WINONA, Minn. – The city Street Department declared a city-wide tag and tow operation to remove the overnight snow. Vehicles parked on the odd side of the street between 12:01 and 6:30 a.m. could be towed. So can vehicles in Municipal Lot 3 downtown. Violations mean a $25 fine what Borkowski towing company charges to recover a vehicle, usually about $180.
Spinout season
Three inches fell in Winona and 4.4 inches in Minnesota City. The Sheriff’s Office reported three spinouts. City Police responded to seven accidents and one spinout. There were no serious injuries. In southwest Minnesota, A blizzard closed Interstate 90 from Blue Earth to the South Dakota border.
