MINNEAPOLIS – A fired Minneapolis police officer, Jess L. Crofton, who had been accused of racist and anti-Muslim posts online, lost his appeal to be reinstated. An arbitrator concluded that a police conduct review panel was correct that Crofton had violated the state Law Enforcement Ethics Code. Police Chief Medaria Arradondo said he fired Crofton for picking out Muslim Americans and African Americans. Crofton’s attorney had responded that the posts were neither insensitive nor biased and, besides, were made while Crofton was off-duty.
