MANTORVILLE, Minn. – A woman who died in an early-morning apartment building fire was identified as 68-year-old Cynthia Ferguson. Firefighters found Ferguson unresponsive when they reached her apartment, Sheriff Scott Rose said. Resuscitation attempts failed. Five other tenants, all apparently suffering smoke inhalation were taken to a Rochester hospital. The fire was at Chestnut apartments, 507 Chestnut Avenue.
