ROCHESTER, Minn. – A Rochester man was arrested after he was reported seen breaking into the locked donation box at the Pax Christi Church. Kyle James Waldvogel, 33, was charged with burglary. A church janitor had called police around 8:10 a.m. that Waldvogel was taking donations from the box at the front entrance. Police established surveillance at the man’s apartment and waited for him to return. Police had been at the apartment the day before — after a church employee reported Waldvogel hanging around and yelling at her when she asked him to leave. In response, police went to Waldvogel’s apartment. There was no answer. After the arrest the next day, Waldvogel’s bail was set at $5,000.
