CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. – Furniture manufacturer Ashley announced plans for a grand-opening of its factory in Chippewa Falls to produce upholstered products. Hiring for 200 jobs has begun, the company said. Production will begin in June. The 127,000-squre foot facility, at 925 First Avenue on the Northeast Side, earlier was owned by school furniture manufacturer Spectrum Industries but has been reconfigured. The plant expands Ashley’s national network of 12 production facilities. Ashley, based 60 miles away in Arcadis, is privately held and doesn’t release financial details but characterized the plant as a multi-million dollar investment.
