WASHINGTON – In his first day in office, President Biden withdrew federal permits for the $8 billion Keystone XL pipeline from Alberta through Montana, South Dakota and Nebraska to Texas. The pipeline has been a symbol of the battle over climate change, first delayed by President Obama in 2015, then OK’d by President Trump in 2017. The Trump permits, Biden said, don’t serve do not serve U.S. national interests.
