MINNEAPOLIS – Former suburban police officer Kim Potter will be tried on two manslaughter charges for killing a black motorist in April, a judge decided. Potter had asked for the more serious charge to be dismissed. Judge Regina Chu ruled no. Potter originally was charged with second-degree manslaughter, but prosecutors added a first-degree manslaughter later.
