BUFFALO, Minn. – A verdict of guilty was returned against a man who shot up a Buffalo clinic 1-1/2 years ago, killing one attendant and wounding others. Gregory Ullrich was charged with murder and attempted murder among other counts. He was judged guilty on all of them. Ullrich explained that a doctor had cut off his supply of opioid pain-killers. The episode itself was bizarre. Ullrich himself placed the 911 call after the shooting: “Send a lot of ambulances.” Bizarre too was the trial. As witnesses testified. Ullrich.now 58 years old, kept his head down on the defense table and didn’t look up for two hours. At one point he told Judge Catherine McPherson that he was in great pain and would prefer to lie down outside the courtroom. The judge set sentencing for June 17.
