WINONA, Minn., 2020 – Roughly nine of 10 registered voters turned for the November 3 election, City Clerk Monica Hennessy Mohan said. The total was less than the last three presidential elections, both in terms of the percentage and the overall number of voters, Mohan said. In a report to the City Council, she said that that Precinct 2 in Ward 1 had the highest turnout — 1,050 out of 1,095 registered voters. The lowest was Precinct 1 of Ward 3 — 583 of 739. Mohan said early voting kept lines relatively short and helped with social distancing. Roughly half of registered voters did so early, she said.
