BROOKLYN CENTER, Minn. – A large group of community members gathered on the street where police fatally shot a black driver in the afternoon. Another crowd, numbering hundreds, blocked Humboldt Avenue just south of the Brooklyn Center police headquarters about 9:30 p.m. Police used irritants to try to disperse the crowd. From a distance, smoke was visible. At one point a single shot was fired into the police building. Police said nobody was injured. There were no immediate arrests.
