SIOUX CITY, S.D. – Some workers at the Smithfield pork plant are cynical about $500 bonuses to return to their jobs, according to investigative reporter McKenzie Huber. “I feel like they’re bribing us with money to come to work sick,” one worker Huber on condition of anonymity. Said another: “That’s how you know they don’t care, because they’re forcing people to come to work. People are forcing themselves to come to work even when they’re sick.”
