CLEAR LAKE, Iowa — A Minnesota man whose vehicle fell into a car-wash bay pit was charged with criminal mischief after a string of bizarre behavior. Police said that Jerod Boynton, 42, of Rochester, first cleared off metal pieces inside the car wash, then messed with other equipment. Boynton, police said, moved grates looking for change and ripped off a downspout and jammed it into the door on another stall. He also placed tape over a credit card machine, police said. Repairs will cost $3,000, the wash owner said.
