MANKATO, Minn. – In his State of the State address, Governor Tim Walz declared that “brighter days are here.” About 1.6 million Minnesotans have received at least one dose of the CoVid vaccine – roughly one in four. Businesses are reopening, he said.  Walz spoke from his former classroom at Mankato West High School. It was his third State of the State address. About the pandemic recovery, Walz was not entirely upbeat. Acknowledging the social and financial devastation caused by the virus, he said: “For too many getting back to normal isn’t good enough.” He called on Minnesotans to come together, to dig deep and to persevere. “This is the spirit that will bring a new day,” he said. “This is the spirit that will usher in equality and dignity.”
