DAKOTA, Minn. – A 72-year-old woman was found dead at home near Dakota late Friday morning. Her name was not immediately released. Sheriff Ron Ganrude said his deputies had received a call from a man who said he had just killed his wife. The call faded, but deputies traced it to a house two miles up County Road 12 from Dakota, in the 45000 block near the popular Southwind apple orchard. Deputies found the husband with a wound that appeared to be self-inflicted, and also the dead woman, Ganrude said. The man’s wound didn’t look to be life-threatening the sheriff said. The husband, 79, was taken to a hospital. Ganrude said there was no threat to the public.
