WINONA, Minn. –A Winona woman was killed when her car crashed into a truck parked on the shoulder of Highway16 near Sugar Loaf. The victim, Kendra Leigh Atherton-Guenther, 29, was airlifted to Gundersen hospital  in LaCrosse. She was driving a 2004 Saturn Vue. The road was slick with snow and ice. Police said the collision was in the southbound lanes of Highway 61, a divided highway, near the intersection with Mankato Avenue. The driver of the truck, a 2011 Freightliner truck-tractor, was Quinton Levair Stephens, 56, Austell, Georgia. He was unhurt. The accident was about 1:10 p.m.

Rerouting

Traffic was detoured south onto Highway 43 and north into Mankato Avenue to avoid the accident scene.
