ARCADIA, Wis. – A ground and air search was launched for the Arcadia fire chef, who went missing three days earlier. Jeff P. Halvorsen, 53, an avid outdoorsman, was last seen leaving home Wednesday evening. Sheriff, Brett Semingson said there was no reason to suspect foul play. Halvorsen was last seen in his a gray 2020 Ram pickup truck with Wisconsin plates NG1855. The family described Halversen as stable and had never just disappeared. Said the sheriff: “They are very concerned, just as we are, and they are fearful of the worst, just like we are, but hoping for the best.” As of Friday evening, his phone had been turned off more than 48 hours. Enlisted in the search: Trempealeau and Buffalo counties sheriff’s and fire departments, a Wisconsin State Patrol aircraft and a Mayo One helicopter.
