WASHINGTON – Senator Ron Johnson, R-Wisconsin, said the Senate vote against codifying abortion as a woman’s right was “no big deal.” It won’t be an election issue for Wisconsinites, said Johnson, who is seeking a third term in the November election. “It might be a little messy for some people, but abortion is not going away,” Johnson said. His point, Johnson said, was that Wisconsin women who want an abortion can always move to Illinois. It was a blithe comment that gave headline writers a field day:
