MANTORVILLE, Minn. – A Mormon church leader convicted of sexual misdeeds will be sentenced on November 29. Judge Jodi Williamson set the date after reviewing a psychosexual examination report on Michael Adam Davis, 38, of nearby Dodge Center. Davis, a welder by trade, had been on the Utah registry of sex offenders almost 20 years before being appointed the leader of a young men’s group in the Mormon Church in Mantorville. His Mantorville arrest raised doubts about church screening practices and whether the church has a high toleration for miscreant behavior involving minors.
