KASSON, Minn. — Fire leveled a large structure that was home to several small businesses on Kasson’s south end. Fire Chief Joe Fitch said that no one was in the building. Not until 2 a.m. was the fire extinguished. It had burned 6-1/2 hours. Two firefighters were treated on-site for minor injuries. The building was at 20 East Veterans Memorial Highway. It was suspected that the fire started in a wood-fueled boiler.
