SPARTA, Wis. — A La Crosse man was pronounced dead at the scene after he was hit by a car while walking in the Little Falls Township. Dead was Vaneng Vang, 77, who was on State Highway 71 near Dakota Avenue northwest of Sparta. The accident was about 7:45 p.m. Monroe County Sheriff Wesley Revels declined to release the name of the driver but said he was a 52-year-old man from Blair driving a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu.
