BURNSVILLE, Minn. – The Northern Sun conference pre-season football coaches poll sees Winona State as fourth in the Southern Division. Overall, the Warriors were sixth. The ranking with the votes:

> Bemidji State, 145.

> UM-Duluth, 142.

> MSU-Mankato, 136.

> Sioux Falls, 136.

> Winona State. 109.

Followed by Northern State of South Dakota, Wayne State of Nebraska, MSU-Moorhead, Mary, Concordia of St. Paul, Minot State, Southwest Minnesota State, Upper Iowa.

South Division

> Augustana, 32 points.

> MSU-Mankato, 31.

> Sioux Falls, 27.

> Winona State, 21.

Followed by Wayne State of Nebraska, Upper Iowa, Southwest Minnesota State.

Winona State, led by first-year coach Brian Bergstrom, opens the 2022 season at Minot State on September 3. The teams have not faced off since 2019, when Winona State drubbed the Beavers 49-3.
