BREEZY POINT, Minn. – Three snowmobilers crashed through thin ice on Pelican Lake, but all climbed out of the water unhurt albeit a little less for wear. The accident was at Breezy Point on Pelican Lake. Crow Wing County Sheriff Scott Goddard identified the three as from the Hale family – 48-year-old Tracy Hale, 48, of Winona; Julie Hale, 58, of Grand Meadow; and Cole Hale, 21, of Riceville, Iowa. Deputies immediately posted thin ice signs. Lake Lake is 8,200 acres and 102 feet deep in places. It’s 30 miles south of Brainerd and 50 miles north of Little Falls.
