ROCHESTER, Minn. – A homeless man charged in two assaults, one involving a cell phone robbery at a hotel, was sentenced to six months in jail. Abdinajib Mohamed Warsame, 35, was given credit for three months served while awaiting proceedings. Also, he was fined $100 and ordered to pay $270 restitution. In March Warsame attacked the night clerk after he was asked to leave. He fled with the clerk’s cell phone. He was apprehended shortly thereafter. In September he pulled a knife and threatened to kill a security guard at Meadow Park apartemnts. Police say the guard pepper-sprayed Warsame before they arrived. Both incidents were felonies, but in a plea deal Warsame pleaded guilty to misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct and theft.
