FOUNTAIN CITY, Wis.  – Elaine Margaret Krumholz Spika, 87, whose Fountain City family roots went back 160 years, died at her home overlooking the river. She attended St. Mary’s Catholic elementary school and the Fountain City high school. She worked briefly for a boot-making company in Rock Island, Illinois, but returned to Fountain City with a young Marquette Univerity dental grad, George Krumholz who set up a practice. He died 1986, and in 1995 she married another Fountain City dentist, Francis Spika. In all she raised 17 children.
