KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, Fla.  – Billionaire adventurer Larry Connor will pilot the Space X Ax1 mission Wednesday, rocketing several Mayo Clinic experiments to the International Space station. Connor, 72, of Houston, is a Mayo patron who developed an interest in space tourism. The Axiom mission is the first with an all-civilian crew. There will be four astronauts on the 10-day mission. Connor made his fortune in real estate and technology. He is a private pilot who’s been involved in multiple aerobatic competitions. He’s participated in off-road racing and circuit racing. He carried out dives in the Mariana Trench in 2021.
