
Signatures galore. Mayo Clinic and town leaders affixed their oversize John Hancocks to a concrete beam that was hoisted atop the new Mayo Kellen building downtown. Appropriate to a topping-ooff ceremony, an American flag was strapped to the beam to wave over the final stages of construction.
11-story building’s core structure in place
ROCHESTER, Minn. — A commemorative beam bearing dozens of signatures marked the topping of Mayo Clinic’s Kellen building having reached what architect’s call its final elevation – 11 stories up. Construction is expected to be complete bu December 2023. The 176,000-squarwe foot building, at Third Street and 4th Avenue Southwest, is for what Mayo calls : basic and translational investigation” cancer and serious and complex conditions. the New York-based Anna-Maria and Stephen Kellen Foundation has contributed $49 million for the $120 million structure.
