VERONA, N.J. – A new SurveyUSA poll put former Vice President Joe Biden ahead f President Trump by 5 percentage points in Minnesota. In its analysis, SurveyUSA said that the Minnesota race had stabilized just ahead of the final campaign week. Biden’s single-digit lead was not insurmountable, the analysis concluded. The question: “In the November election for President, how do you vote? Republican Donald Trump? Democrat Joe Biden? Or some other candidate?” The survey polled 649 likely voters October 23-27. The margin of error was 3.6%. On other issues:
> Biden led among suburban men.
> Biden led among suburban women.
> Trump led nearly 2:1 in rural areas.
> Minnesotans were 4:3 against adding justices to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Senate race
Incumbent Democrat Tina Smith led former Congressman Jason Lewis, a Republican, 45% to 42%, within the margin of error. Analysis: Lewis’ support had increased steadily, from 36% in early September. Smith, meanwhile, was treading water.
