ROCHESTER, Minn. – A person believed to have been fighting off assailants in Martin Luther King Jr.Park was shot and wounded. Police said the man was in stable condition at a hospital. He had been dropped off at the hospital by private conveyance. The incident was about 5:50 p.m. Police quoted witnesses as seeing three or four vehicles flee the Far East End park. A K9 police dog located two different caliber rounds about 40 yards apart, police said. Police believe between seven to nine shots were fired. Police called the man who was shot an “uncooperative victim.”
