WASHINGTON – Mayo Clinic has been named the best hospital in the nation by the magazine U.S. News & World Report. The magazine, in its 33rd year of ranking hospitals, has put Mayo at Number 1 for seven years.The ranking considers more than 30 medical and surgical services. Second and third behind Mayo: Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles and Langone Hospital in New York City. Criteria included mortality, patient experience, nursing care, and at-home follow-up. More than 4,000 hospitals were evaluated also by specialty, Mayo Clinic ranked in the top 10%.
