WINONA, Minn. – The latest CoVid variant, Omicron BA.2, has led to a slight uptick in CoVid cases in Winona, but the effects are relatively slight. Rachelle Schultz, chief executive at Winona Health, said the BA.2 variant is behaving more like the common cold or flu. Schultz cautioned against reading too much alarm into the federal CoVid data tracker that shows a roughly 1.6% increase in counties rated at medium risk. Winona County, she said, is currently low risk. Schultz’s assessment was in a KWNO radio interview.
