MINNEAPOLIS – The judge for the trial of suburban police officer Kim Potter, who is charged in the death of Daunte Wright in a traffic stop, has barred news media from broadcasting the proceedings. There will be no recording or livestreaming, Judge Regina Chu ruled. The ban doesn’t affect reporter and sketch-artist access. The trial begins November 30. Potter, who is white, is charged with manslaughter in shooting a black motorist, Daunte Wriight, in April. The death promoted days of protests in Brooklyn Center and elsewhere in the Twin Cities.
