LACROSSE, Wis. – The Trump campaign team inquired about the Copeland Park baseball stadium for a rally Saturday after plans for the airport fell through. But Copeland fell through too. Local Trump supporter Dan Kapanke, who owns the LaCrosse Loggers and leases the stadium from the city, went to Mayor Tim Kabat with the plan. The mayor responded that the city wasn’t interested. Because of COVID-19, the city has granted only one event permit this year. La Crosse has the 11th worst metro outbreaks in the nation.
