VIROQUA, Wis. – the Viroqua Police Commission voted 4-1 to suspend Police Chief Richard Niedfeldt for 10 days after an investigation into numerous complaints. The complaints:

> Failing to follow through on a harassment charge against an officer.

> Not completing a traffic study.

> Lying about the racially provoking the “thin blue line” symbol on the department logo.

> Misstating information in a state database on police officers.

Mayor Justin Running, although disappointed at only a suspension,  called the commission’s investigation fair and  timely. He said he looked forward to working collaboratively with the chief.
