ROCHESTER, Minn. – A Rochester man who held a homeless woman in a storage shed for several weeks and threatened and raped her will go to prison. Scott Ramey, 57, was sentenced to 23-1/2 years by Judge Kathy Wallace. With a conditional release, Ramey could get out in 10 years. . The criminal complaint that went to a jury in March was lurid. The complaint quoted the woman, then 20, as asking Ramey at one point to let her go, then forcefully shoved onto a couch in the shed with a gun at her head. She said she believed Ramey would kill her. She said that Ramey routinely belittled her. He called her “dead deer” and a “prostitute.” Once, according to the complaint, he said: “I’m going to break your leg and throw you down to the river.” She eventually escaped and went to police.
