PINE CREEK, Wis.. – Florence J. “Tootie” (Mertes) Kupietz, of Pine Creek, who was employed with the Marigold dairy and the Schueler candy factory in Winona, died at age 92. She also was employed 25 years at Sacred Heart Church and helped a son in his cleaning business until retiring at age 82. She grew up in Bluff Siding, attended a one-room schoolhouse for six years, then St. Joseph’s School for two years, and then Cathedral High School in Winona. She belonged to the VFW Auxiliary and the Hilltop Polka Club.
