WINONA, Minn. – Michael P. Kleinschmidt, 84, of Winona, a land surveyor for 60 years, died at Benedictine-Court nursing home. As a surveyor he had more than 1,000 clients in Buffalo, Houston, Trempealeau and Winona counties. He graduated from Cotter High School in 1956 and completed a degree in physical sciences at Winona State College. During college he worked as a waiter at the Oaks Supper Club in Minnesota City and developed a lifelong love of great food, big band music, and dancing.
