HOUSTON, Minn. — Shawn Lee Martin, 63, of Houston, a musician who traveled the world with Dr. Hook and the Medicine Show, died at home after playing his last gig the night before in La Crosse.  His musical career spanned 50 years, beginning with high school friends. His first band was Red Emma with Craig Olson and Rick Davies. Later he  played in local the bands the Wails, Pipestone, and Skeeter Louis and the Stingers. In recent years, he played with his daughter and family in the local group the Brianna Rae Band. He also  worked in newspapers, from delivery to management.
