WINONA, Minn. – Stephen T Allard, of Winona, a geoscience professor at Winona State University for 19 years, died at age 59. His academic interest was hard rock and structural geology. He led student field trips throughout the United States, notably many summers in the Black Hills of South Dakota. He was an active researcher and mentored students to presentations at scholarly conferences. He advised the campus Geology Club for 17 years. He held degrees from the University of New Hampshire and a doctorate from the University of Wyoming.
