EYOTA, Minn. – Vince McConnell, 77, who was named Eyota Senior Citizen of the Year in 1990, died at Cottagewood Senior Living in Rochester. He attended school at Dover-Eyota through his sophomore year, then graduated from Lourdes High School in Rochester in 1962. He was in the U.S. Navy in Vietnam. Then he went to work for Olmsted County and for 37 years managed the Eyota highways shop. He ran the game clock for Dover-Eyota sporting events for 30 years. He also umpired. In 2015 he was inducted to the school’s Wall of Fame. He was a 50-year member of the Eyota American Legion, as commander from 1970 to 1976,
