ST. PAUL, Minn. — Governor Tim Walz ordered flags to half-staff to honor of former President Jimmy Carter. Said Walz: “President Carter defined what it means to be a servant leader. He fought for our democracy, our climate, humanity, and civil rights around the world.” The flags will behalf-staff for 30 days. Among other tributes and recollections:

> Senator Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota. She remembered meeting Carter and watching him teach Sunday school in his hometown of Plains, Georgia. “We prayed together at Maranatha Baptist Church, and we shared pimento cheese sandwiches.” Klobuchar called his faith profound.
