WINONA, Minn. – Fifteen residents at the Brookdale Assisted Living campus on the Far East End were evacuated about 6:30 a.m. after a smoky fire erupted in an n outdoor sitting area.. No injuries were reported. Firefighters tentatively blamed an extension cord into the building. Residents were bussed to other another assisted0living facility. The Brookdale campus is in the 800 block of East Belleview, just off Mankato Avenue.
