ST. PAUL, Minn. — A Wisconsin-based contractor on the Enbridge Line 3 pipeline project was fined $25,000 for the death of a construction worker in December. The Minnesota Occupational Safety and Health Administration ruled that Precision Pipeline of Eau Claire was guilty of a serious safety violation. Killed was Jorge Villafuerte III, 45, of Brigham City, Utah. He was checking a list of materials at a Line 3 supply yard near Hill City. He was standing behind an industrial forklift when it backed over him. Villafuerte followed pipeline jobs around the country. His family called him “a proud union pipeliner.”
