BLUE RIVER, Wis. – Two people, one of them a 12-year-old boy, died in a pre-dawn house fire that trapped them inside. A 15-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl were badly burned. One was taken to Milwaukee for hospital treatment, another to Madison. Others in the house escaped. The fire was reported about 3:40 a.m. at 105 Jay Street. Grant County Sheriff Nate Dreckman, stationed 30 miles away in Lancaster, declined to release the victims’ names immediately.
