WINONA, Minn. – An East End man told police he was rousted from an afternoon nap by two men, one of them armed with a knife and gun. The assailants referred to a $5,000 deal from last June, he said, but he had no idea what they were talking about. The victim, 24, said the men apparently got into his place, in the 300 block of Chatfield, through a side door. One of the men had a knife with a three-inch blade. The man, he said, then put the knife away and pulled out a small, black handgun. The victim said he was told to go outside with him – and then he ran to a Kwik Trip convenience store a block away and called police. The victim described the man with the knife as white, 6 feet, 215 pounds, about 30, with a bushy beard. The other man, he said, was 5-11, 180 pounds, possibly black, with dreadlocks.
