ST, PAUL, Minn. – A Winona teacher, Shannon Helgeson, has been nominated as a Minnesota Teacher of the Year candidate. Helgeson teaches high school and coaches adult learners. Also among 75 candidates:

> Owatonna: Jess Wagner.
> Rochester: Natalia Benjamin.
>Triton: Monica Maloney.
A panel of leaders in education, business, government, nonprofits and philanthropy will review candidate portfolios and choose semifinalists.
