WINONA, Minn. – A Winona man was arrested and held for a strangulation attack on a woman, who called police almost a week later. Jailed was Thomas Jon Flak, 59. Police said Flak denied the attack. The woman, however, showed photos of redness around an eye and broken glasses. Also, witnesses said that they had been at the woman’s place on November 25, in the 500 block of East Fifth Street, and observed what happened. The woman said she was in bed when Flak entered her room and hit her with a closed fist and held her neck.
