WINONA, Minn. – Thirty new Covid cases were diagnosed among Winona State students in the university’s latest weekly status report – more than quadruple the previous week. The university offered no explanation. Health experts, however, have been expecting a surge of the virus with colder weather and more people indoors in close proximity. The latest reporting period ended November 7. There also was one new Winona State employee case. The previous reporting period included seven student cases and no employee cases. For the latest period the total students in quarantine was 13, in isolation 55. Cumulative cases so far Fall semester:128 students and 10 employees.
