ST. PAUL, Minn. – The State Patrol began a statewide crackdown on seat belt law violators. The Patrol and 300 local police agencies are participating in the Click It or Ticket campaign through November 29. The Patrol said that 93.4% of front seat occupants in Minnesota wear seat belts, among the most in the country. At the same time, the Patrol said, deaths involving unbelted drivers and passengers is the highest since 2012.
