ALMA CENTER Wis.— A hooded woman walked into the Jackson County Bank branch in Alma Center with a note demanding $4,000. The teller gave the woman cash. How much wasn’t revealed by either by the bank or Jackson County authorities. The woman left on foot. This was about1:15 p.m. Two K-9 sniffer dogs from the sheriff’s office tracked the woman’s scent to a nearby parking lot but lost it. Deputies surmised she drove off. The bank is at 141 West Main Street in Alma Center, a village of 500 people. The modus operandi was much the same as a robbery of another Jackson County Bank branch in Black River Falls two monhs ago. The Jackson County Bank itself, headquartered 15 miles away in Black River Falls, has assets of $170 million.
