WINONA, Minn. – Winona Schools has started rapid Covid testing for students and staff. It works this way, said school spokesperson John Casper: A child feeling ill during the day and who has symptoms is sent home with a nasal test kit and instructions. In an interview on radio station KWNO, Casper said the district is also buying rapid saliva test kits, besides the nasal kits, for home testing. “Testing is a very big weapon in being able to keep our kids in school and having all of these different in-person opportunities that we have.” Winona Schools has had 30 reported Covid infections since the school began September 7.
